The adventure to the Rainbow Mountain and the Red Valley on an ATV begins very early with the pickup from your hotel in Cusco between 04:00 and 04:30 in the morning. Next, the 1 hour and 30-minute journey will take us through the landscapes of the Southern Valley until we reach the town of Cusipata (3,310 meters above sea level / 10,860 feet), where we will enjoy a delicious Andean buffet breakfast to start the day with energy.
Afterward, we will continue for 1 more hour toward the community of Laya (4,630 meters above sea level / 15,190 feet), the starting point of our ATV experience. Here we will receive a brief safety talk and practice to familiarize ourselves with the handling before starting the adventure.
The quad bike tour will traverse incredible landscapes surrounded by mountains, vast high Andean pampas, and many typical animals of the area. Upon reaching the final point of the ATVs, we will take a short 20-minute walk to reach the famous Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain (5,036 meters above sea level / 16,522 feet). From this spectacular viewpoint, we will be able to admire the stunning multicolored stripes naturally formed by minerals over millions of years. You will have time for photographs, exploration, and to enjoy one of the most impressive landscapes in Peru.
Subsequently, we will visit the spectacular Red Valley (5,000 meters above sea level / 16,404 feet), one of the hidden gems of the Andes mountain range, famous for its intense reddish tones and its stunning panoramic views that contrast with the surrounding mountains.
Once the visit is over, we will return by quad bike to the station where our transport will be waiting for us. Back in Cusipata, we will enjoy a buffet lunch with traditional Andean flavors before embarking on the return journey to Cusco.
