Day 1 | Puno – Uros Floating Islands – Amantaní
Sail through the waters of Lake Titicaca and discover the living culture of its ancestral communities.
The adventure begins with pick-up from your hotel in Puno at 7:30 am and transfer to the port to embark on a journey across the highest navigable lake in the world. Our first stop will be at the impressive floating islands of the Uros, built entirely with totora reeds. Here we will learn about the history, traditions, and way of life of a community that has inhabited these waters for generations. We will also have time to explore the islands, interact with their inhabitants, and enjoy this unique environment.
Next, we will continue to the island of Amantaní, where a local family will give us a warm welcome. After sharing a traditional lunch prepared with local products, we will closely learn about their customs and the daily life of the community.
In the afternoon, there will be a hike to the ceremonial temple of Pachatata, from where we can enjoy one of the most spectacular views of Lake Titicaca at sunset. As night falls, those who wish can participate in a traditional Andean celebration with the host families, wearing typical costumes and sharing local music and dances, an authentic and unmissable experience.
Day 2 | Amantaní – Taquile – Puno
Discover the cultural richness of Taquile, an island where ancestral traditions remain alive.
After enjoying a traditional breakfast, we will bid farewell to the host families and sail to the island of Taquile, recognized for its extraordinary textile tradition, declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
Next, we will take a pleasant walk to the main square, where we will witness the customs of its inhabitants, admiring their colorful handmade textiles and visiting their small craft shops.
After lunch, we will descend to the port to embark on the journey back to Puno, arriving in the afternoon. We will thus conclude an unforgettable experience that will allow you to discover the authentic culture of Lake Titicaca and share unique moments with its traditional communities.
