Welcome to Peru.
The adventure in Peru will begin upon your arrival at Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima, where our team will greet you and accompany you on a private transfer to your hotel.
After a long journey, the day is designed to be taken at a leisurely pace. Depending on your arrival time, you can rest and then discover some of the most representative places in the city of Lima.

From the Andes to the table
After breakfast, you will have a private transfer to the airport to take the flight to the city of Cusco.
Upon your arrival, our team will be waiting for you to begin the journey to the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
The itinerary has been designed so that the arrival in the Andes is gradual and pleasant, allowing you to begin acclimatization in lower altitude areas while discovering the landscapes surrounding Cusco.

Subsequently, we will continue toward Pisac, one of the most representative towns of the Sacred Valley.
Depending on the pace of the day, we will make a brief visit to the archeological site and we can stop at one of the valley viewpoints to admire the vast landscapes.
At the end, we will continue the journey back to our hotel.

DAY 3 – SACRED VALLEY OLLANTAYTAMBO MACHU PICCHU
The legacy of the Incas
After breakfast, we will head to Ollantaytambo, one of the best-preserved Inca cities from the legacy of the ancient Tahuantinsuyo empire.

Accompanied by your guide, you will be able to explore the archeological complex of the town and its main historical sites:

The guided tour of the Inca citadel lasts between 2 and 3 hours; with a professional guide, we will be able to better understand the history, architecture, and spiritual significance of the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu.
Return to the Sacred Valley
After the visit, we will descend to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo).
Depending on the available train service and schedule, we will be able to enjoy dinner at Café Inka Terra (or similar) before boarding our return train.
The return will be on a tourist train with comfortable seats and large windows to appreciate the surrounding nature.
Upon our arrival in Ollantaytambo, a private vehicle will take us back to the hotel.

On this day, we will leave behind the grand archeological monuments to approach a more intimate dimension of the Andes.
We will head to the Community of Misminay, where we will be welcomed by its local members and enjoy an authentic cultural experience.
Here the journey changes pace. We will spend time with local families and learn about some of the traditions that continue to be part of their daily lives.

What is the best time of year to make this trip?
The program operates year-round. Between May and September, you will find sunny days and cold nights, with clear skies over the Andes. From November to March, the landscape transforms: intensely green mountains, fewer visitors, and rains that usually concentrate in the afternoon. Each season offers a different experience, and our team will guide you based on your available dates.
Are there set release dates?
No, since it is a trip for a small group of 2 to 6 participants, we do not have fixed departure dates. You can choose the date that best fits your itinerary, with a minimum of 2 participants to confirm the departure and a maximum of 6 people per group.
If there is already a confirmed group for a specific date, you can also request to join that outing. The confirmation is subject to the availability of hotels, trains, and tickets to Machu Picchu.
This flexibility allows you to organize your trip based on your international flights, vacations, or a special celebration and enjoy an experience tailored to your plans.
Can I customize the itinerary?
Yes, the program is a starting point, not a closed structure. We can adjust the number of nights per destination, incorporate hotels of your preference, substitute experiences, or modify the pace of the itinerary. Share your interests with us and we will present you with a proposal tailored to your way of traveling.
Is it possible to extend the trip to other destinations in Peru?
Of course. This itinerary naturally combines with the Amazon, Lake Titicaca, the Colca Canyon and Arequipa, the Nazca Lines, or the northern coast. We recommend defining the extensions at the time of booking to ensure the best air connection and the continuity of private service.
What are the booking and payment conditions?
The reservation is confirmed with an initial payment of 50% of the program's value, and the remaining 50% is paid 60 days before the start date. That first payment allows us to immediately manage the tickets to Machu Picchu, the train tickets, and the domestic flights, services with limited availability that sell out months in advance. Securing them early ensures that your trip unfolds as planned.
What is the cancelation policy?
We understand that travel plans can change. Therefore, our cancelation policy establishes the following conditions, according to the advance notice with which we receive the written cancelation request via email:
More than 90 days before the start date: only the non-refundable expenses already incurred will be retained, plus US$ 200 per passenger for administrative management fees.
Between 90 and 61 days: a penalty equivalent to 50% of the total program value will be applied.
Between 31 and 60 days: a penalty equivalent to 75% of the total program value will be applied.
Within the 30 days prior to the start date, a penalty equivalent to 100% of the program value will be applied.
This scale corresponds to the commitments and reservations we manage on behalf of the passenger from the confirmation of the trip. Some services, such as tickets to Machu Picchu, train tickets, and domestic flights, are non-transferable and, once issued, are subject to the conditions of each provider and are non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-modifiable.
For this reason, we recommend purchasing travel insurance with cancelation coverage, which may allow for the recovery of the corresponding amounts when the cancelation is due to a cause covered by the policy.
Likewise, certain requests and procedures related to reservations, refunds, or modifications may require a processing time of between 15 and 90 days, depending on the service involved, the provider's conditions, and the applicable procedure.
Before confirming your trip, your advisor will explain the specific conditions of each contracted service and address any questions related to our cancelation policy.
Can I change the date of my trip instead of canceling it?
Yes, it is possible to request a date change with more than 90 days' notice, without penalty and subject to availability and the fare difference corresponding to the new dates. Some services that have already been issued may require rescheduling with an additional cost.
Within the 90 days prior, the request is governed by the cancelation scale. Your advisor will evaluate each case, always seeking the best alternative for you.
Can I transfer my reservation to another person?
The services linked to your identity document, your entry to Machu Picchu, your train tickets, and your domestic flights cannot be transferred once issued. Land services can indeed be transferred with more than 60 days' notice. Let us know the situation as soon as possible and we will inform you of the exact fare difference.
What happens if my international flight is delayed and I miss a service?
In the event of an international flight delay, our team will immediately assess the available alternatives and, when possible, will reorganize the remaining services to minimize the impact on your trip.
However, some services with specific dates and times, such as tickets to Machu Picchu and train tickets, may be subject to the provider's conditions and may not allow rescheduling or refunds.
Therefore, we recommend purchasing travel insurance that covers delays and loss of services. If applicable, we will provide you with the necessary documentation to file a claim with your insurance company.

Can I participate in this program if I am traveling alone?
Yes, the program is available for individual travelers with entirely private service: your own guide, your own vehicle, and experiences designed at your pace. The rate is calculated per double room, so a single room supplement applies, which we quote according to the selected hotel and date.
Do I need a visa to enter Peru?
Citizens of most countries in the Americas and the European Union do not require a visa for tourist stays. A passport with a minimum validity of 6 months from the date of return is required. As requirements may change, we suggest confirming them with the Peruvian consulate corresponding to your nationality before traveling.
Is any vaccine required?
There is no mandatory vaccine for the destinations on this itinerary. The yellow fever vaccine is only recommended for those extending their trip to the Amazon. If you have any specific medical inquiries, we recommend consulting your trusted doctor in advance.
Why is travel insurance mandatory?
Because it protects a significant investment. A flight delay, an illness, or a family emergency can affect non-refundable services, such as tickets to Machu Picchu or train tickets. The policy must include cancelation coverage, medical assistance, and evacuation; the latter being especially valuable in high-altitude areas. We will request the policy number before issuing the services for your trip.
What happens if the altitude affects me during the trip?
Our team is ready to accompany you. The itinerary already minimizes the risk by starting the Andean stay in the Sacred Valley, and the selected hotels offer traditional infusions and oxygen support. In case of any discomfort, your guide will immediately coordinate medical attention and adjust the day's pace according to your well-being.
Can I take this trip if I have a medical condition or reduced mobility?
We invite you to share with us any medical condition, treatment, or mobility limitation at the time of booking. Several sites include stairs and uneven surfaces of Inca origin, but the program offers adaptations: alternative routes, additional rest times, and substitute experiences, designed for you to enjoy the trip with complete peace of mind.
Is it a trip suitable for children?
Yes, and it is one of our favorite proposals for families. The experience in Misminay, the encounter with Andean camelids, and the train ride are usually the most memorable moments for the younger ones. We suggest a minimum age of 8 years due to the altitude, and we can adapt the pace and visits to the family's profile.
Can you accommodate dietary restrictions or allergies?
Yes, please inform us in advance of any allergies, intolerances, or dietary preferences, whether vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, or otherwise, and we will communicate them to each hotel, restaurant, and culinary experience in the program, including the community lunch in Misminay. Peruvian cuisine offers exceptional versatility to meet practically any requirement.
In which languages is the guide service offered?
The program includes professional bilingual guides in Spanish and English. Upon prior request and subject to availability, we can arrange guides in French, Portuguese, Italian, German, or Japanese. What luggage limit applies on the train to Machu Picchu?
The train operators allow one handbag or backpack per passenger, with an approximate limit of 8 kg and dimensions set by each service. Your main luggage will be kept safe at the Sacred Valley hotel, so you will only travel with what is necessary for the day.
Can I climb Huayna Picchu or the Machu Picchu mountain?
These ascents require a specific circuit and entry, with very limited spots that open several months in advance. What currency should I bring and can I pay with a card?
The official currency is the Peruvian sol. International credit cards are accepted without difficulty in hotels, restaurants, and established shops. We recommend carrying some cash in soles for markets, crafts, and tips, especially during community experiences.
Do I need an adapter to charge my devices?
In Peru, the current is 220 volts at 60 hertz, and the outlets accept two-prong plugs: flat (type A) and round (type C). If you are traveling from Europe or much of South America, your plugs will fit without difficulty; if you are traveling from the United States, check that your equipment accepts 220 volts, as most modern chargers for phones, cameras, and computers do so automatically. The itinerary has been designed so that acclimatization to the Andes is gradual and comfortable. After Lima, we fly to Cusco and continue directly to the Sacred Valley, which is at a lower altitude than Cusco. Which Machu Picchu circuit will I visit?
Machu Picchu has different official circuits, designed to distribute visitors and offer various perspectives of the citadel. The availability of each circuit is limited and is assigned at the time of booking the ticket.
Upon confirming your trip, Sakura Expedition will manage the entry to Machu Picchu and request the most suitable option for your experience, always subject to official availability. If Circuit 2 is not available, an alternative will be assigned for the date of your visit.
For this program, we prioritize the circuits that allow you to enjoy the panoramic views and the main archeological sites, according to official availability.
Important: The Machu Picchu circuit cannot be guaranteed until the entry has been confirmed.

Which train will we use to get to Machu Picchu?
The program includes Expedition or Voyager tourist train services, carefully selected according to availability. Once the permits are secured, you will receive your official confirmation invoice. At that moment, your reservation will be guaranteed 100%.
How is the outstanding balance paid?
The outstanding balance can be paid in cash (in US dollars or Peruvian soles) at our Cusco office or according to the instructions of your travel advisor.
