Day 1 | Puerto Maldonado – Tambopata Lodge
The three-day adventure begins in Puerto Maldonado, from where we head into the depths of the Amazon. After traveling through paths between forests and local communities, we will embark on the Tambopata River heading to the lodge. During the navigation, we will begin to discover the wildlife of the area, with the possibility of observing birds, capybaras, caimans, and other characteristic animals of the region. Upon arriving at the lodge, we will settle in and, as night falls, we will visit the forest to listen to and discover the nightlife of the jungle. Dinner and overnight stay are at Tambopata Lodge.
Day 2 | Tambopata Lodge - Collpa de Chuncho – Tambopata National Reserve
The second day, before dawn, we will sail along the Tambopata River toward the impressive Chuncho Collpa. With the first light of day, hundreds of parrots and macaws may gather at the clay lick to feed on the clay, offering one of the most fascinating spectacles of the Amazon.
Returning to the lodge, one traverses the landscapes of the Tambopata National Reserve, with opportunities to observe various species of wildlife. In the afternoon, we walked through the forest to learn about its trees, flowers, and medicinal plants to better understand the richness of this ecosystem. As night fell, we sailed again on the river in search of caimans. The night is spent at Tambopata Lodge.
Day 3 | Tambopata Lodge – Puerto Maldonado
The last day of the adventure is enjoyed in the morning with the first sounds and colors before breakfast. Then we begin our return to Puerto Maldonado, carrying with us the experience of having explored the Amazon, its extraordinary landscapes, and wildlife. Depending on your flight schedule, you will have time to rest, enjoy the hotel facilities, or take a brief stroll through the city, thus concluding the unforgettable day in the Amazon.
